Desert Jet, the private jet provider for the greater Palm Springs area, raised over $25,000 last month to benefit local charities, using its fleet of jet aircraft.
Desert Jet donated the use of one of its jets for the “The Grand Auction 2012″, the Boys and Girls Club of the Coachella Valley’s 30th annual Red Carpet Event at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort. The winning bidder won a trip to Las Vegas in Desert Jet’s beautifully appointed jet aircraft. This was Desert Jet’s third year supporting this organization that provides youth development programs throughout the Coachella Valley.
Desert Jet also donated private jet flights during the fund raising auction for the Desert Spirit Gala, benefiting the American Cancer Society. Initially offered for auction was one private jet flight for 8 passengers to attend the aquatic spectacular “La Reve” at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Two enthusiastic supporters of the American Cancer Society were in a bidding war, each upping the other as they reached bids of $10,000 each for the special event. Desert Jet jumped in and offered each bidder the opportunity to enjoy this experience, earning $20,000 in benefit of the American Cancer Society, the largest amount earned from an auction item in the 23 year history of the event.
Melissa Neiderman, Event Chair for the Desert Spirit Gala, shared a kind compliment regarding Desert Jet’s participation. “Thanks to the generosity of Desert Jet, the American Cancer Society’s Desert Spirit Gala had the most successful live auction in their 23 years of putting on this event. The compassion that Denise Wilson and her pilots have for the community is extremely evident in Desert Jet’s support in many of the local charitable organizations. Everyone on the American Cancer Society’s Desert Spirit committee and staff are grateful for their participation in creating the most successful fundraiser to date for us.”
