RALEIGH, N.C. – Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine (http://www.enterprisingwomen.com), has appointed Robin Bailey and Denise Wilson to the Enterprising Women Advisory Board.

As the President and CEO of Desert Jet, Wilson is dedicated to providing clients with expertise in acquiring, operating, maintaining and generating revenue using private jet aircraft. During her career, she has logged more than 7,000 hours of flight experience and has flown for several airlines, including Aloha Airlines, and served as a former airline captain. Desert Jet has been recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as the only certified woman-owned air carrier business. Founded in 2007, Desert Jet was honored two consecutive years on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 list of the nation’s fastest growing privately-owned companies. Wilson is the recipient of WBENC’s 2012 Dorothy B. Brothers Leadership Award, was named one of 2012 Ten Top Women CEOs on the Inc. 500, and was a finalist in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Entrepreneur of 2010 contest, recognized in the Emerging Entrepreneur category and a finalist in the 2012 Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Women Program. Robin Bailey is president of Southern Progress Corporation, a publisher of popular lifestyle magazines and books based in Birmingham, Ala. With a combined readership of more than 50 million, Southern Progress Corporation publishes magazines such as Southern Living, Cooking Light, Health and Sunset. A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Bailey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and was the first female president of the university’s National Association of Accountants (NAA) chapter.

Both women are winners of 2013 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards.
